Nice Camp in Masai Mara

Just stayed here recently and liked the camp mainly because it gives a very close to nature feel - not like a typical hotel type lodge. So if you are in Masai Mara , this is the type of accommodation you want to enjoy [ not a 5 star hotel type stay ! ].

There are many nice camps in Masai Mara when I did my research but I choose this because it was reasonable - not cheap, but well priced compared to some other camps. I booked through Shoor Safaris and their rate was also better than direct with the camp. [ Also I could not get this camp from some of the online booking engines eg ].

The one minus is that the camp is just outside the main reserve - but not so far actually, should take only 25 minutes to the main gate through an animal sanctuary, but the road is such that it takes a little longer. Thats why they get 1 star less from me- the camp should itself try to improve the road a little!

Anyway what we did is stayed 3 nights and on 2 of the days we did full day gamedrive in the reserve at no extra cost [ specify this with Shoor Safaris ] and this means you get in and out of the reserve just once. The picnic lunch provided could be better but then one of the days we just entered one of the lodges [ keekorok i think] to have their lunch at extra cost - abt $ 30pp for the buffet. So it worked out well - we got to see plenty of game by the way.
